What is self-care?
Now, at Love, MeMeMe we talk about self-care a lot. It’s kind of our gig💅. However, there are so many different elements and aspects of self-care it’s easy to lose sight of what it actually means… like what does self-care actually mean? At Love, MeMeMe terms it means practising rituals to be the best version of you, for you and the people around you. Me time, for us.
🌈Why is self-care important?🌈
Umm hellurr? It’s crucial for your wellbeing. Lots of research has been done including The World Health Organisation defined it as “the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider”. Practising self care are the steps a queen like ourselves can take to help manage stressors in our lives and take care of our own health and wellbeing. Dunno ‘bout you but I’m liking the sound of that. Who knew a face mask would solve all my problems x.
💓Is self-care different from person to person?💓
Hell yes it is. Self-care requires checking in with yourself and asking yourself how you’re doing what your body’s asking for. Some people use self-care to deal with difficult news stories and others just to maintain their day-to-day happiness. Self-care does mean the same thing for everyone. Some people adopt different self-care practices and these may even change over time.
